New books!
February 1, 2012We have just received a new shipment of medical books and DVDs. Titles include Oxford Case Histories in Cardiology, Nursing care of Older People, Core Clinical Cases: Psychiatry, Clinical Skills for Healthcare Assistants, Practical Evidence-based Physiotherapy, as well as many others books specifically for medical students. They are all on display in the library and ready for loan.
New additions to Oxford Handbook ebook collection
February 1, 2012We are pleased to announce additions to our Oxford Handbook ebook collection. You will now have access to 91 titles including The Oxford Textbook of Medicine, Emergencies in Critical Care, Oxford Handbook of Medical Statistics and Oxford Textbook of Heart Failure. You can access these from our Library catalogue using your Trust Athens Login.
Book sale
February 1, 2012We are holding a used library book sale on the 1st of March. All books will be on display in the Library for a 2 week period and will be sold on a first come first served basis. Why not come along and grab yourself a bargain!
Royal Marsden Manual Online
February 1, 2012You can now access the Royal Marsden Manual via the Trust intranet without needing to log in.
To find the Manual, look for the ‘Guidelines’ link on the left side of the intranet home page. You can also access the Manual outside the Trust using your Athens login.

Literature search training and services
February 1, 2012One to one literature search training is provided by professionally qualified librarians and is available to all staff and students based at UHSM and MMHSCT. Sessions usually last one hour and take place at the ERC Library or in your place of work if required. Book a session from our webpage, or speak with a member of staff for more information.
We also provide a literature search service if you wish us to perform the search for you. You can fill out a literature request form online from our homepage or in the library.
Christmas opening times
December 1, 2011The ERC Library will be closed from Monday 26th to 30th December. We will re-open Tuesday 3rd January 2012. The last day to submit inter-library loan requests will be Friday 16th December. You will still be able to access the Multimedia Room outside of Library opening hours. You will need your UHSM ID badge to enter the ERC and to swipe into the multimedia room. The out of hours entrance is the next door along from the Library main entrance in the atrium. To return books during this period you can use the book drop box located outside the library entrance.
We would like to wish everyone a very happy holiday season.
Would you like to borrow an iPad for a week?
December 1, 2011An iPad in a clinical setting provides instant mobile access to current information. The iPad will make it easy to collaborate with colleagues remotely and access important information wherever your work takes you without having to look for a workstation. Check drug interactions, medical images, access medical databases, access ebooks and ejournals (Athens password required), show patients illustrations/pictures and information, use online training packages. Carrying an iPad gives you the Internet and its wealth of resources and information at your fingertips.

Health & Wellbeing DVDs
December 1, 2011We are please to announce that we have again been successful in bidding for external funding to develop our Health & Wellbeing collection. We have purchased nearly 100 DVDs to help you keep fit, healthy and happy! Please click here to see a full list of titles available. DVDs can be borrowed by all staff free of charge for our normal loan period of three weeks. All titles are also on our catalogue and on loan DVDs can be reserved online.
